Temples with a view

After so much good food and excellent wine, there’s nothing better than a walk through the ruins of time.  We stopped in the seaside town of Taormina which is home some very impressive ancient Greek temples.  They are located up the mountain side so we all climbed into the cable cars and enjoyed the aerial view to the top.  We wandered the streets lined with lovely shops and cafes until we reached the entrance.  The sights just continued to get better and better.  It was a brilliant afternoon and the views were breathtaking.  Today these ruins are often host to outdoor music events from opera to pop music right in the Greek theatre.  I can’t imagine a more beautiful venue.

Once at the top of the mountain we took in the views of the coast which are no less than simply spectacular.
